02 Explorer No Door Lock

I have a 2002 ford explorer xls that was purchased new.

The common problem is that the switch is not closed this will cause your dome lite to be on door ajar light on and will malfunction any aftermarket auto alarm. Push the power door unlock button once to turn on the auto lock feature. The horn will chirp once if auto lock was deactivated or twice one short and one long chirp if auto lock was activated. Older versions used a plunger that you could easily test with with your fingers.

Re upload from my old channel. Press the power door lock button once and listen for the horn to beep one time. One beep confirms the auto locks have been disabled. Turn the ignition back to on.

No door is opened but the doors refuse to lock and the warning light stays on.
