139 53681b Craftsman Garage Door Opener

Have a craftsman garage door opener 139 53677srt3 and cannot program remotes. I bought the liftmaster 971lm to replace two old 139 53681b remotes for a craftsman 5 hp garage door opener that were so old they were held together with rubber bands and had cracked big buttons which made it challenging to effectively use. Now as per programming instructions remotes won.
