Understanding a roof s pitching can be quite tough if you are just getting started and working with a roofer can leave you a little bit unsure about what is being suggested with regard to the job there s so much to learn that it can become a bit baffling. Pitch is the term used to describe the angle slope or slant of your roof. Low pitched roofs have the pitch below 4 12 33 3. Roof pitch designations are comprised of two numbers indicating a ratio. A 2 12 roof slope is considered low so the roofing materials you would use on a steeper roof may not work.
